inspired by a book I'm writing which was in turn inspired by a truly magnificent thunderstorm I witnessed this summer...
it was astounding...
lightning and thunder so bright and violent the columns shook, hailstones sprayed the size of the first joint on my thumb, the rain obscured everything beyond ten feet in front of me...
it lasted for two glorious hours then disapeared as if it never were, leaving behind only sparkling crystal droplets on the leaves of the holly trees and pale sunlight filtering grey through the wings of a cardinal...

Nice. I like the heavy sky. I can feel the mist in the air--feel the heaviness of the approaching or current storm. The snake like dragon blending yet contrasting with the scene.

this is a somewhat old piece, but I have enough fondness for it that I was unable to remove it during my gallery sweep.
I just...I always feel so inadequate to the task of representing all of those things in the world that strike me as amazing and awe-inspiring. But I still try, in my own way :)
I'm glad you like this one.
