Description

A small troodontid dinosaur that lived in Late Jurassic China. Anchiornis is an excellent example of a dinosaur well into the transition between saurian and avian, as its name (which means "near bird") implies. It is one of two dinosaurs which, as I write this, have had their coloration positively determined by scientists.

Paleontology is exploding with unbelievable discoveries lately, I can't wait until I graduate
